thook is one of my favorite finds of the year. After getting into William Crooks and learning thook had produced many of my favorite tracks ("hands!", "problem!", "walk it off") I went deep into the instrumental world of thook. Cerebral, headphone-friendly, and with enough bass to make you question your speakers. If it's clipping, it's supposed to be clipping. There's an amazing video of Timbaland listening to thook and losing his mind.
His track "lone idol" opens his four song EP, The Agonos Connection, and I spin it back constantly. So much happens in under two minutes. He followed up that EP with split singles "Eastside" and "Loose Foot" recorded out in Macedonia, and now we wait to see what he's coming with next. Lord knows his laptop is full of gas. He was sharing something to his IG Story earlier this year that sounded like a symphony for a nature film. Unreal.
