Favorite Projects of 2022 // Albums, EPs, Tapes

So many albums. So many lists. I wanted to write a blurb for each one of these albums/projects but bandwidth is low and I need my energy for other things (reading poems, watching movies). Just know Obijuan had the rap game in a chokehold in 2022 with (at least) seven projects. Olafur Arnalds reworked one of my favorite albums ever with truly stunning results. As well as a solstice short film. BEAM had the hardest closing track to any album ever (spin “Planet Beam” until the end of time) as well as an EP with SkipOnDaBeat that was online for about 6 hours before being taken down. The rest is a fine mixture of hip-hop, trip-hop, modern classical, jazz, and more hip-hop. Thanks for another great year, music.
