I went back in time
the other day
and revisited
the work of
Florida rapper
Cashy aka
Cashy Kesh Dolla.
In 2015, his EPs
Platinum Plus
and Priceless
were unlike anything
I'd heard. The uniquely
high pitch vocals
thrown over
circus trap production.
Casual, playful, wild.
At some point
during this era
of blog rap
and cloud rap
and consistently
impressive hip-hop,
I bought a vintage
Orlando Magic jacket
off Cashy. He had
a webshop
or something.
I wore it
a few times
and gave it
to a friend.
I wonder
where it is now.
Every year, it’s always so difficult to narrow it to 50.
Too much good music to truly narrow it down to 50. I tried.

an EP and an LP from one of the greats
A new rap mix with an excessive amount of bass.
So much music this year. I barely scratched the surface.

Two albums by an instrumental bass guru.
A global journey every time you press play.
A rundown of West Coast rapper Seafood Sam.
A bionic bomb in hip-hop’s underbelly.
A rapper + producer album you need.
Two LPs from one of North Carolina’s finest MCs.
Highlighting one of my favorite current artists.
Discussing a movie and a soundtrack.
