“What if all the stars go out?”
What does one do
when all of the lights
go out and stars
begin to disappear?
For orphan Tim,
who is terrified of the dark,
he puts it upon himself
to take care of this mystery
in order to properly
return to slumber.
The premise is Nocturna,
a 2007 trip
through dreamland
and Night World,
visiting Sandmen,
night guardians,
enchanters, and shepherds
in charge of cat brigades.
This wonderfully done
animated film
might have slipped under
your radar,
as the independent
Spanish-French film
was quietly released
a decade ago,
but it still holds
up in 2017.
It's worth every megabyte
of memory.
