I couldn’t find the energy to write about every individual music video but I still wanted to share some of my favorites from this year. I watched a lot of them and here’s a small handful, in no particular order. Scroll through the mayhem and maybe you’ll find something new. A mesh of hip-hop and sleepy time piano. Rap and ambient. Animation and reality. I love all of these videos. Music keep me company, keeps me bouncing. It’s always been about the music.
And lastly, I know it’s not a music video, but it’s worth mentioning this 100-minute improv music-making session between Flying Lotus, Reggie Watts, and Marc Rebillet. I’ve had it on in the background for the last few weeks and it continues to inspire the hell out of me. A kind reminder to not overthink it and keep going.
