Pavel Mrnous

from Bratislava, Slovakia

made four books covers

for a series titled

Echoes of Surrealism.

Choosing famously

tripped out novels,

Mrnous created

his own illustrations

to accompany

the literature.

Drawings like

carriages with feet,

wine-pouring organs,

and camera heads.

It's a steampunk affair

that reimagines some

of my favorite books

like Trout Fishing

in America

by Richard Brautigan,

and Froth of the Daydream

(aka Mood Indigo)

by Boris Vian.

I need to check out

the remaining two

(English translations)

by Russian author

Mikhail Bulgakov

and French author

Raymond Queneau.
