Percival Everett

might be the most

exciting and inventive

(and prolific)

American novelist

living today.

Not only

did the film adaptation

of his book Erasure

just win Best Adapted

Screenplay

at the Academy Awards

(American Fiction)

but he’s released

three novels in

the last

four years.

That being said,

he’s released

about 40 books

in the last 40 years

so this isn’t

exceptional

for Everett.

It’s just the norm.

For Dr. No,

this funny and fast-paced

novel reads like

a spy screenplay.

Like The Trees before it

(and Erasure, clearly)

it has Hollywood

written all over it.

You can hear how much

fun Everett is having

with each

and every paragraph.

The Trees in 2021

and Dr. No in 2022

and the highly

anticipated and recently released

James in 2024

is one hell of a run.
