Artie Do Good

released the double

sided project

aka beat tape

aka jazz frenzy

aka rap groover

known as Here's to Life.

For this nearly

hour-long project,

Artie properly flips a 1992

release by Shirley Horn

of the same name,

reminding me (conceptually)

of L'Orange's Old Soul

with Billie Holiday.

Blending his

cinematic and grandiose

production skills

(yet still crackling

and shrouded in hip-hop),

he reworked

the dreamy jazz album,

taking it to

a new dimension

and bringing along

some of his friends

(, Darnell Smitherson

and Dunzo Donalds)

for the smooth ride.
